Our Professional Forestry Team
C. Paul Major, President, is a 1973 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. Paul has been a professional forestry consultant since 1985 and worked for eleven years prior to that with the forest industry. He is a Registered Forester in North and South Carolina and is also licensed as a South Carolina Real Estate Broker and as a South Carolina Certified General Real Estate Appraiser - a designation few foresters possess. Paul earned the "ACF" designation of the Association of Consulting Foresters (ACF) in 1991 and has served as the Chairman of the South Carolina Chapter of the ACF. He has also received the designation of "Certified Forester" by the Society of American Foresters (SAF). Paul holds membership in a number of other professional organizations, including the South Carolina Forestry Association; Foresters Council of South Carolina (1998-2001); Forest Landowners Association, Inc.; and landowner associations in Newberry, Saluda, and Union Counties of South Carolina. David E. Boone, a native of Aiken, South Carolina, joined Major & Company in 2004 after ten years of employment in the forest industry and two years of working as a forestry consultant. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resource Management from Clemson University in 1990. David is a South Carolina Registered Forester as well as a South Carolina Certified Prescribed Fire Manager. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters, the South Carolina Forestry Association, and Newberry County Landowners Association. Among his many duties, David is also responsible for the firm's GIS and GPS mapping operations. DEBoone@majorandco.net
Robert Salley, prior to joining Major and Company, was the founder and president of Red Oak Forest Products, Inc. in Chester, S.C. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management from Clemson University in 1976 and a Masters in Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. in 1983. Robert has extensive experience in the forest industry with particular emphasis in the marketing of forest products as well as timber harvest planning and supervision. In addition to being a South Carolina Registered Forester and a member of the Society of American Foresters, Robert holds a South Carolina real estate license and is a Realtor. He is also a member of the Realtors Land Institute where he earned the ³GRI² designation. Active in community affairs, Robert has served as a board member of the Hazel Pittman Center (an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility) and the City of Chester Historic Preservation Commission. Ann T. Moseley serves as the firm’s office manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Newberry College and capably handles the firm’s administrative duties. Ann is also an accomplished musician, singer, and actress of local acclaim. ATMoseley@majorandco.net
